Engr. Seyi Makinde has embraced ground-breaking technology that is helping him connect with voters, volunteers and supporters. Engr. Seyi Makinde has started an online movement as part of his activities towards winning the hearts of Oyo State people most particularly those who utilise the internet, handheld devices, social media and email for keeping up to date with information regarding the forthcoming PDP Governorship Primaries in October 2014 and General elections in February 2015.

The online awareness platform (http://www.seyimakinde4governor.com) is being anchored by Seyi Makinde's Online Campaign Team (SMOCT) and the site was developed specifically to rally the Oyo State youth, men and women in supporting Engr Makinde's aspiration with an aim of increasing campaign awareness.

Engr. Seyi Makinde speaks on the need to tackle poverty & inequality in Oyo State

Speaking to a cross section(s) of Oyo State citizens and residents last weekend in Ibadan, Engr. Seyi Makinde, a governorship aspirant, said the future of the state is in the youngsters and that the younger generation is the pillar of Oyo state. He called on them to shun being used as tools of violence by undesirable elements who want to destroy their dreams and damage our dearly beloved state for their own selfish means interest.

He said the gap between the rich and poor was the defining challenge of our time. He claimed the standard of living is sky rocketing due to inflation.

In addition, Lack of robust infrastructure such of good roads, telecommunications, power, and Information Technology facilities have made it hard for Oyo State people to prosper. Therefore, as Infrastructure is key to building a society that can overcome poverty in a sustainable manner.

Engr. Makinde vowed to tackle poverty and inequality within the communities. He promised to work with Federal Government of Nigeria, NGO's and other Charity Organisations to give Oyo State citizens a chance to get quality Infrastructure facilities and escape a life of poverty.

When you help others you help yourself. He says the bond he has with the state is like the bond between mother and her child which cannot be separated. He said is committed to supporting hardworking Oyo State people. He promised to help the younger generation to fulfil their potential to become leaders of tomorrow.

Engr Makinde told the group of people that he sees philanthropy and politics as windows of opportunity to give back to the community the lost hope and improve the standard of living of the people. He then called on the people of Oyo state and the younger generation to choose the democratic and progressive path to build the state together and shun violence as it will destroy the state and lead to set back.

Engr. Seyi promised to boost the economy by creating 100000 professional and business services jobs in all the 33 local government council in Oyo State.

He promised to set up a committee that will look into the issue of infrastructural development in Oyo State and provide a lasting solution to this problem in order to bring prosperity to the Oyo State citizens.

He also spoke on how he will equip young people with the skills such as IT apprenticeship, business entrepreneurship needs to succeed in the global marketplace. The project initiative is aimed at plugging the gap between skilled and unskilled people which would be of great benefit to the whole community.

Seyi Makinde launches gubernatorial campaign structure for 33 local governments in Oyo state

Engr. Seyi Makinde, a PDP governorship aspirant has formally launched his governorship campaign structure for 33 local governments in Ibadan; with a long-shot bid to become Oyo state governor.

Engr. Seyi Makinde is a long standing PDP member who ran for Senate in 2007 election. In 2014, Seyi Makinde's team has put together an impressive campaign structure and they're prepared to do something different with the venture they assembled.

As he prepares to officially launch his governorship drive, Engr. Seyi Makinde may get help from an ambitious new political structure being built out of his Omi Titun campaign organisation, a group of savvy young politicians and technocrats that could reshape how future governors harness supporters to press their Agodi agendas.

To achieve Oyo state's support would take a complex mixture of strategic planning and political manoeuvring.

Engr. Seyi Makinde says he is holding the public launch for his governorship campaign structure for the 33 local governments on Saturday 29th of March 2014 in Ibadan where he began his political career.
