Affordable Legal Aid, Inc. Providing Do-It-Yourself Divorce In Sacramento

>> Sunday, June 24, 2012

A do-it-yourself divorce can avoid the outlandish expenses of an attorney and is less stress. Affordable Legal Aid is proud to offer Sacramento residents the option of a do-it-yourself divorce to make ending a marriage simple.

Affordable Legal Aid, Inc. is proud to announce the easy option of a do-it-yourself divorce in Sacramento. This procedure makes a divorce by consenting parties as trouble-free as possible. Affordable Legal provides assistance to couples ending their marriage in Roseville, Sacramento and surrounding areas.

When divorce attorneys charge in the range of $300 an hour, it can become quite impossible to get a marriage ended and simply move on. Saving money in these hard economic times seems to be of paramount concern, and understandably. Many couples decide to take the steps needed later, putting off the inevitable. However, leaving a marriage in place can be constricting and hangs everything in limbo when a couple would rather just move on with their individual lives.

Since California law does not require an attorney to proceed with a divorce, a do-it-yourself divorce is a fast and efficient way to deal with matters. Many people, who have gone through the process, handling the paperwork with a little help, often comment they would have done it no other way.

Affordable Legal Aid, Inc. offers additional paralegal services in the Sacramento area including living trusts, wills and adoptions. With their expertise, they can guide a client through the process of divorce or any other service smoothly, ensuring all documents are correctly prepared and filed timely. This, per Affordable Legal representatives, avoids all the hassles of hiring attorneys and saves a lot of money.

Affordable Legal Aid is not a law firm and does not give legal advice or represent a client in court. However, their team of professionals works hard and knows the ins and outs of filing for divorce. They cannot, of course, guarantee the outcome of any legal proceeding; but they do guarantee the client's satisfaction with the quality of their work.

Affordable Legal Aid, Inc. serves Sacramento, Roseville and other surrounding counties in Northern California. They have over 22 years of experience, filing over 10,000 cases. Additionally, they have an excellent rapport with the courts system to ensure all required documents are filed timely as well as accurately.

Exxon Mobil, Chevron and Conoco Named as Defendants in Effects of Diesel Exhaust Emission Lawsuit

>> Friday, June 22, 2012

Attorney Greg Owen, of the Los Angeles law firm Owen, Patterson & Owen, will represent Frank Shoenwald and Rosette Shoenwald in a diesel exhaust lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on June 12th, 2012 case #BC486543. Owen plans to demonstrate that harmful health effects of diesel exhaust emissions and that the alleged negligence on the part of the defendants caused his client's serious health problems. Mr. Shoenwald has owned, operated and maintained diesel vehicles during the last 30 years. He has ingested large amounts of diesel exhaust while driving and maintaining his diesel vehicles and is now allegedly suffering from the effects of exposure to diesel exhaust emissions.

As a result of the alarming announcement on June 12, 2012 by the World Health Organization (WHO) that diesel exhaust emission fumes can cause cancer in humans and belong in the same potentially deadly category as asbestos, arsenic and mustard gas, millions worldwide will now be alerted to the serious health risks in breathing in diesel exhaust emissions.

Symptoms of exposure to diesel exhaust emission vary. The California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment website states, "Exposure to diesel exhaust can have immediate health effects. Diesel exhaust can irritate the eyes, nose, throat and lungs, and it can cause coughs, headaches, lightheadedness and nausea. In studies with human volunteers, diesel exhaust particles made people with allergies more susceptible to the materials to which they are allergic, such as dust and pollen. Exposure to diesel exhaust also causes inflammation in the lungs, which may aggravate chronic respiratory symptoms and increase the frequency or intensity of asthma attacks."

Owen stated, "We have long known that diesel exhaust emission may cause a variety of symptoms and serious health problems. But now WHO has confirmed what many have suspected all along--that diesel exhaust emissions are highly toxic and can cause cancer."

People possibly most affected by diesel exhaust cancer causing emissions include, but are not limited to, truck drivers, homeowners living next to freeways, firemen, construction workers, military and boat pilots. According to WHO, almost anyone exposed to diesel exhaust emissions is at risk. As noted in the press release issued by the WHO, Dr Christopher Portier, Chairman of the IARC working Group, stated that "The scientific evidence was compelling and the Working Group's conclusion was unanimous: diesel engine exhaust causes lung cancer in humans." Dr Portier continued: "Given the additional health impacts from diesel particulates, exposure to this mixture of chemicals should be reduced worldwide."
